Lisbon's Real Estate and Infrastructure Growth: 2025–2026

Lisbon is undergoing significant urban development, with major projects set to reshape the city over the next few years. One of the most notable is the Prata Riverside Village, a €2 billion development along the Tagus River, which will deliver 830 new homes and 26,000 square meters of commercial space by 2026. This project is part of the larger effort to revitalize Lisbon’s eastern waterfront and create a vibrant, mixed-use district.


Another major initiative is VIC Properties' €500 million project, which will add around 3,000 new homes in the Matinha and Prata areas. This massive development is set to address Lisbon’s housing shortage and will feature a mix of residential, office, and retail spaces. The expansion is expected to play a key role in the city's urban expansion and further solidify Lisbon’s status as an attractive hub for international investment.


Additionally, Lisbon is investing heavily in its transportation infrastructure. The construction of the 16E tram line, set to begin in 2026, will connect key neighborhoods, enhancing the city's connectivity and reducing congestion. This expansion, along with ongoing projects in student housing, further underscores Lisbon's commitment to improving its urban environment, supporting growth, and accommodating the increasing demand for modern living spaces.
